USDA and several federal government agencies including civilian and military have entered into a partnership to apply virtual world technology as a means to support the mission and business needs of the Government. A major objective is to create a multi-agency advisory committee to create new and innovative government-wide solutions. ASSYST has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to enable the Government to build, customize and host interactive and persistent virtual worlds where users can operate over networks for the purposes of collaboration, training, rehearsal, analysis, simulation, experimentation, and socialization using the VastPark platform.

Lori Kavle, President of VastPark US stated “This win demonstrates the strengths of the VastPark technology and the desire of the U.S. Government to implement a Virtual World platform based on open standards". With the VastPark platform, ASSYST can deliver solutions that are better than what is available in public virtual world environments. With the VastPark platform, ASSYST can offer customers a fully immersible, persistent 3D experience using avatars as the user interface.

ASSYST’s Chief Technology Officer, Somnath Banerjee stated, “With the VastPark platform, ASSYST is able to advance beyond Web 2.0 and the traditional forms of social networking as we build 3-dimensional work environments in cyberspace where our virtual image can interact with other Avatars to provide metamorphic services to each other based on a meritocracy". The VastPark Virtual World infrastructure, core components, and tools provide a complete platform to support a more meaningful collaboration experience and ASSYST is looking forward to implementing these solutions for civilian and military agencies.

ASSYST, Northern Virginia – June 2009: The last week of May witnessed the unveiling of a new Case Management System that ASSYST built for the Frederick County State's Attorney's Office. The System centralizes the County’s court cases, allowing State's Attorney employees to access case files, interact with each other and review police reports. The System which was designed and built using SharePoint, will not only bring substantial savings in the long run, but will also enable more effective prosecution of crime.

Speaking on the occasion, the County’s State’s Attorney Charlie Smith acknowledged the work done by ASSYST, and specifically mentioned his appreciation of the effort put in by Sileshi Gedefaw and Tim Porter. Frederick County’s Director of IT, Dale Spangenberg spoke about the importance of the initiative, and expressed his appreciation of ASSYST’s contribution to the project. NBC covered the function and aired it on the 5:00 o’clock news hour program your4state.com/content/fulltext/. You can also view the full program at County's media server.

This accomplishment highlights ASSYST’s expertise on the Microsoft platform and the solutions that the Company can provide using SharePoint. The project is another strong example of ASSYST’s continued progress in designing, developing and implementing Judicial systems. The experience also strengthens ASSYST’s partnership with Microsoft and provides a good example of how Microsoft products when implemented correctly provide real returns to State and Local governments.
